LIGHT AND DARKNESS
This Series of 6 works of art are inspired by the classic dilemma of good and evil, light and darkness. I started my sketches, focused on the fact that light always shines in the dark. Hence the first layers of paint were layers of dark gray tones to later allow very light colors to shine on the surface. Allowing the light to shine in the darkness means to me that the love that God gives us every day can be reflected and shared with everyone around us. Reading the scriptures about the great promise of having a column of cloud by day and a column of fire at night fills me with light and hope, because I think it is the presence of God accompanying us in our lives.
GREEN RAYS OF LIGHT
Series Inspired by the harmonious light and tranquility that the beautiful rays of the sun give us when they cross the vegetation in the morning, creating countless vibrant rays of light.
PATHS
In daily life we are presented with many decisions that we must make, there are so many options that we have at our fingertips and sometimes we do not know which way to go, which will be the right way? What I think is that there is not only one answer, following the scriptures I find that seeking the word of God is seeking his guidance, with his guidance it does not matter if there are obstacles along the way because he redirects us. I love to think that He is my GPS as the only seeker of my goals.
TRANSPARENCIAS
With these contemporary geometric compositions I want to reflect how a simple line and multiple layers of transparencies can create multiple illusions and let the imagination do its part.
ASTERS
A series of works of art of abstract geometry inspired by the beauty of the colors that Asters flowers give us in summer, radiating happiness.
GOOD NEWS
In the morning, when the sun is appearing on the horizon, with majestic strength and with its beautiful color, the tones of the firmament are changing, it is the promise fulfilled that a new day has arrived. A new day, a new opportunity to continue towards our goal, showing us that God´s love is inexhaustible, and his mercies are new every morning. Thinking about this, when doing this small series of 3 works, brings me great happiness, because we all want good news, we want sweet words, we all want joy every morning.
TRANSPARENCIES OF BLUE
Continuing with the study of transparencies, where clean lines interact with the clarity of the cobalt blue color, I create a series of 4 works of art where I want to capture how those shapes, transparencies and shadows become a path that somehow transmits an elevation.
DIPTYCH / TRIPTYCH
When I´m working on the sketches, I find extremely entertaining and a bit of a challenge to make two or more panels come together in a coherent aesthetic connection. The preliminary lines that I make are the beginning of this communication game, continued with a composition where this relationship unfolds, giving evidence of its intimate connection.
When I work on my initial sketches, I like to imagine that the lines and shapes that I am forming with my pencil have life and energy and a visual vibration begins to be created between its elements, forming an illusion in space, this is how I start my creative process in each work.
My paintings are characterized by multiple layers of acrylic paint that with soft brushstrokes and transparencies create a design of depth on the surface.
Without exception, all of my artwork is created using artist-grade acrylic paints and mediums, applied onto a professional-grade wood panel treated against support-induced discoloration. At the end, when the work is finished, I apply a layer of a isolation coat and a thin layer of professional acrylic varnish, with ultraviolet light filters and stabilizers (UVLS) to provide archival protection (Means durable protection by permanent art standards).
The completed artwork is signed on the front and back of the wood panel with its title and completion date. Each work of art is accompanied by its own certificate of authenticity.
